Just finished two series, the first,
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant
and the second set was,
The Heritage of Shannara
I liked both of them, Thomas Covenant is a play on fantasy and real life, is a bit slow to start but does need lots of back ground to put it into perspective. The Heritage is based on the other shannara books which I have read. I like this series a lot.

I too am an avid reader, mainly fiction. Already ready lots of sci-fi classics like Starship Troopers, Canticle for Leibowitz, Dorsai! Neuromancer, Dune, etc...
Just began reading the FellowShip of the Ring a week ago actually. It is fantastic, verrryyy different from the LOTR films. Much more indepth. The hobbits are actually interesting in the books xD xD XD
10/10 would recommend.

"It Can't Happen Here" by Sinclair Lewis.
Semi-satirical novel about Fascism taking over the U.S. in the period between WWI and WWII.
