Hi all,
I'm currently looking for a new monitor but unfortunately know jack about them. I'm using an old LG 21" (that's as much specs I know about my current one). Just doing some reading online it seems low input lag and high refresh rate are the two main things to look for? Going off that i guess I'd like a 27" with 1ms response time. No preference on brand, as long as it's good. I'd like to keep the cost under $400 CAD, not that into gaming to justify spending more.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards, Track

Thanks Amigo. That's quite the monitor you got. Must be quite the experience playing with that beast.
Thanks Ton. I saw that computer in the store as well, looked nice. Question though, all this I'm reading about 1ms response time vs 5ms, is that even noticeable to an average person? Is the extra $ worth it?
Thanks, Track

From what I can tell through reading up a little bit, it seemed like for a nice monitor anything 5ms and below would be good, and one could probably not tell the difference between 1ms and 5ms. To me looking through amazon that one seemed like the best bet of all that I saw, tons of reviews with a very high rating, trusted brand, and reasonably priced compared to some in that size that cost twice as much. If they've got that one in the store and it's priced within your budget it seems like a winner to me , I wish I had it after looking at it

Back in the early days of ET, refresh rate was a bigger concern. As tonofclay said, I don't think it is much of a factor these days. Plus they changed the way they measured it at some point, so it can't always be compared across brands. Keep in mind that if you go with higher res than 1080, and you want to run games at the max resolution, your FPS will take a hit.
