No Hoff, you definitely aren't the only one that likes this kind of music. Granted I usually stick with soundtrack, but that doesn't mean I don't like some classical. I've actually been thinking about getting some Wagner because I know he is one of the chief influences for John Williams' style. And speaking of him, I have a nice little cue that could probably be considered chamber music.

And this is a personal favorite of mine. Mars the Bringer of War from Gustav Holst's Planet Suite. This is one that has been referenced quite a bit as well, most notably in Star Wars A New Hope and "The Battle" from Gladiator.
Oh yeah, and that conductor... She gets into it lol.

^^^^^Played this my jr year in high school marching band in a city wide competition. We won second place after the school not competing in the competition for over a decade. It was quite the accomplishment. We also played the star trek theme.
This is one of my personal faves that we always played for graduation.

Awww yeah! This what I was talking about, I love pure music (no words or meaning, just emotions)... All very nice... I had seen the interpretation of Asturias by Albeniz, neat Mungos... I didn't know Gustav Holtz, will have to check him out more extensively...
First chamber music I ever heard was the Brandenburg Concertos by Bach... I had already started hearing rock and I had started playing guitar, so the Brandenburg Concerto N°5 made lots of sense for me. My theory is that heavy metal would've never existed without Bach, and this is my proof - you can go to 3:00 and hear again all the heavy metal guitarists at once....

As for chamber music, some minimal stuff with maximum effect from Nyman Romantic young Brahms, alot of noise with just 5 instruments The same for two piano's, women of excellence Some Tchaikovsky that is still within the range of Chamber Music An English Romantic - Elgar on fire in the first movement! Again some Brahms And his piano version played by my hero Zimerman Perlman scratching real nice the Bach tunes into eternity, lets cry together Perlman on some small enough music to be chamber as well Running with Beethoven the true sound of his agitation The master Richter with Sir Britten playing Schubert as it should be played - live There is so many, where do i find the time? Opera, vocal and orchestral in the next round A little sample of some vocal, my hobby. Absolute control of the voice Open a bottle of wine and headset on and spend the next 53 minutes in transcendence
