Anybody here watched this one yet? I had seen lots about it and all the hype so naturally I had to check it out. I'm three episodes in and I am really enjoying it so far. The whole presentation of the show is fantastic and so far it's just been FUN to watch which is so important for me in a show. It has this great 80's PG to PG13-ish sci-fi / horror vibe that, even though I already used the word once to describe it, is just FUN. And not to give off the impression that it's just some Scary Movie-esque re-hash of those genres, more so just a solid show with a nod to the good ol' 80s Considering most of the threads this in this section have been started by me this year I'm not sure anyone here watches TV (or maybe just ignores my threads ) but if it gets one person to check out the show I'll consider the thread a win !

I am patiently waiting on season 2. They did a really good job casting the boys. They needed stereotypical geeks and they found them. Not a fan of Winona Ryder, but they had her channel her unstable years and it works for the show.
Very good show!! Brings back tons of memories!!!!

Didn't see this thread.
I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Binge watched this in 2 days.
Very reminiscent of movies from the 80s.
11 is very talented. Potential to be a great actress when she's all growns up.

Yeah I never returned to the thread but I finished it awhile ago, great stuff!
Do we know if there will be a season 2 ? Will it continue on this plot or be kind of like the American ___ Story shows with a new topic/theme ?

All I know Ton, is that it was renewed for a 2nd season. Not sure of the story line. I believe it will be out sometime next year, 2017.

I'm fairly certain it will be a continuation of the first season. They left the story wide open. Did any of you see the SNL skit? hah

Loved the show. Watched it over a week.
I'm curious where its headed and if the little kid with the bow cut may have a little of the "Upside down" in him.
11 was dope.

Anybody start watching / finish watching Season 2? I just finished it up yesterday ... another enjoyable season I thought. It hasn't been out for very long so I don't really want to be spoil anything yet.

Season 2 is queue'd up for me.
I've got a lot of catch up to do... including watching Ozark.

Daughter asked if I wanted to watch it with her a few weeks ago. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We watched Season 1 in a very short time. OD'd on the 80s flashbacks and loved it! We've watched 6 of 9 episodes in Season 2 and I'm still impressed. The cast, set designs, and storyline are all great! I hope it continues being this great for many more seasons! Did I mention it was great?? I did?? Great!
Looking forward to episodes 7-9 probably tomorrow night or Saturday when daughter gets here.

Whatever happened to 24 episode seasons.... Netflix happened. And went to the 13 ep. format. And then Game of Thrones happened. And they went with 10 (production costs). And then Amazon Prime happened and they just went with a 6 episode format (Catastrophe). I guess companies are afraid to sign anyone on for a long term contract just in case a Kevin Spacey happens?

HBO has been doing ~13 episode seasons for awhile now (been almost 20 years since The Sopranos first aired ) ... I think most all shows on the premium networks average out to around that same number of eps. I'm sure money is a big part of it but I also think that it seems to be a sufficient amount of episodes to tell a good story without being rushed or dragging things out. For shows with much higher episode counts I think they are probably not really concisely telling a story (not that that is necessarily a bad thing, could be a comedy where it doesn't really matter or something). The Amazon shows I've watched have all been 10 episodes as well I think ... I dunno which ones have only 6 episodes, but maybe they were ones that Amazon weren't ready to fully commit to or something?

Season 2 or 3 of Catastrophe on Amazon Prime is 6 eps. But that could be due to the fact that the writers were lazy. Speaking of which, if you haven't seen Catastrophe yet, add it to your list pronto. Rob Delaney is hilarious. Actually both of them on the show are funny (both comedians). I think the last 24 episode show I watched was.... .... 24.

Cool, haven't heard of that one before! I have seen Rob Delaney on this British show 8 out of 10 Cats a few times and he's been pretty funny.
