Sometimes the game gets 'stale' for me - not the correct adjective, but you know what I mean... So I've been trying to do different things to make it fun (still staying objective-based of course).
The goombah - I've never been really successful, but last night I squashed two Axis engies trying to defuse dyno at the last barrier before the courtyard on Gold Rush. I *think* one was McBain, the birthday boy. That was fun.
The poison needle - Quite by accident I poisoned an Axis while trying to revive a team mate. So then I thought I'd just see how many times I could poison people. That was fun too. Man it's alot harder than it looks (at least for me). Do two needle sticks 'un-poison' them?
Adren-whoring - Ahhh, the needle. Most times I play engie and use adren to get to the obj faster (ie the gold in Gold Rush, or a dyno-objective). Lately I've been an adren covey. The adren helps me survive long enough to poorly aim and kill an enemy. Man that MG42 can spit out some boolets. That's always fun. Maybe two weeks ago I wore Soul out (he was a medic, back way on Battery). His mouse sens was too low to keep up with me sprinting and spraying.
I guess I'll start exploring other classes - like soldier with flamer...
I still die alot, but I'm having more fun - and that's the goal, having fun, playing ET with you fine folks.
So that's my confession for the day. What do you guys do to make it more fun?

PS Dabastard gets a gold star for being the reviving-ist medic in town. Love you man!

I know what you mean Wolf-Brother!!
If Hoff or someone who knows me is mortaring on Goldrush and I am a medic or field op, I try to find them to give them med or ammo packs. It takes once or twice before they figure out I am not there to kill but to help. Can't say the same for their teammates though. I usually get shot up pretty quick, but it gets a laugh out of people. Once McB got in there a head of me and got to Hoff but his teammates killed him, so I jumped up and down on his body until they shot me.
I say as long as we are not ruining the game for our team, goof around whenever you want. We just need to remember that it is a game so have fun!!!

Usually I either watch TV or have music on while I'm playing. Also a lot of browsing the web on my phone. Anything to take my mind off the game really ...

lol ton... I do apreciate those ammo packs, Tor. I love the Super Agent 86 kind of fun. (the counter, counter espionage) vmax- A dude once said there's only 2 kind of people in the world- murderers and suicidals... You seem to be part of the first kind... On the contrary, when I want to do something diferent, I just jump from cliffs, step in front of soon-to-be-blown up gates or trip into mines PS: Oh, and sometimes, being engie, I just let the dyno blow up the gun, but do not tell

I do everything in my power to make the game harder, and more enjoyable. Which includes everything youuus all said. Fops, Mortar, and Sniping are extremely boring for me sooo I tend to never do those.....Maybe fops, and snipe someeetimes. Single pistol whooping is the funnest for sure though. It will also increase your aim 100%. Knifing and tossing knives is fun/increase your skillls tooo.

"Dabastard gets a gold star for being the reviving-ist medic in town. Love you man!"
Thanks VMax, but I actually have a bone to pick with you on this one, hehe
You're a hard person to heal. I chase you down and force you to take your medicine where others may not, that may be the difference. You can also be hard to hit with a needle at times. You usually take the first and second med paks then run off not fully healed while I'm still spitting out med paks.
This leaves a med pak where others may not get it. Best to save my med-mana for closer to the fight.
When I go looking for a med, I'll usually 'take a knee' and let him do his thing. Makes it easier for both involved.
fyi buddy, luv u too

When I'm full-tilt-boogie to an engy objective, I rarely look around for a medic or stand still. I'm always trying to move so (1) hoff has a harder time killing me or (2) steiner's rain-of-terror-arty can't blow me to kingdom come. It really comes down to 'are the medics playing the objective' or playing footsie with the enemy covey and the cp. It really gripes my azz when 'I've fallen and I can't get up,' only to pull up the map and see no medics near the objective. Then I have to decide - tap out or wait. There are good medics out there (you know who you are) and I appreciate the revives and the packs. DaB, I'll try to slow it down and take a knee...but only for a sec...cause hoff's usually nearby...carrying a bullet with my name on it. Finally, I agree with you...trying to stick someone that's moving is tough. Which brings up my unanswered question: If a single stick to an enemy causes poison, do two sticks heal them? The reason for asking is this: when I was on a 'medic poison mission' recently I *know* I stuck an enemy, but when I didn't hear the gurgle immediately, I stuck again...only to get killed because I brought a needle to a gunfight. This happened on several occasions during that gaming session, leaving me to wonder, 'did I poison, then heal that guy...or did I miss the stick both times.' I realize there is a finite amount of time between the stick and the gurgle - maybe I'm not waiting long enough for the audible, then the second stick negates the poison. I don't know, but I'm spending waaay too much time on analysis, LOL. Need a controlled experiment tonight to resolve this...unless someone smarter than me knows the definitive answer. Anyway, cheers to all that play and enjoy the game! -V-

An option to 'taking a knee' would be to follow the med as he drops med paks and runs out of harms way.
Getting in the view of a med/Fops, I think the 'universal signal' you need meds/ammo is to take a knee in front of him. He/she should realize that you need help. It's a 'quick' communication.
To follow a med/Fops seems to take a little longer to 'communicate' between the two players.
And in ref: to the 1-needle/2-needle
Both would be a poison-shot. As far as I know, you can never heal the other team aside from dropped med paks. When the server is quiet (2-4 players), we've done lots of messing around and was never able to heal other team with a needle. Just try it next time you're on when it's quiet.
And VMax, make sure your compass is turned on in the HUD. I played for more than a few years with it off. I wanted 'more view' and didn't want it covering my view. Once I moved to larger monitor, I gave it a try. I find it invaluable now.
It's a great source of info. You mention having to pop into map to check for meds nearby, this will allow u to stay in-game and see map.
Now I'm pretty sure you can zoom the compass-map in and out, but I don't know the keys. I keep meaning to look them up, hehe
The maps are great info. If I'm dead waiting to spawn, I'll check the L-map. A majority of time, you can see where some axis are on the map. Make note of that and apply that to the decision on which direction you're going to go after spawn.
eg. Fuel-Dump - Check map, see a bunch of axis at bridge and where snipers are. If I want to engage in fight, go towards the most axis on the map. If I'm trying to get by them, I go the direction the map looks clear.
Even in this PC war game, more information can help you win, as important as 'more bullets'.

u should also try throwing smoke and stab enemies as covert ops! I actually did that last night. A damn covey was wearing us out. He killed me so many times I focused 100% of my attention on 'getting a suit,' creeping up behind him, and knifing him while he was using his scoped K43. It was righteous!!! I'm not a good 'knifer' but I DID knife Rel last night...which made me smile. -V-

Late to the party as usual but one my faves if i'm getting bored is going soldier w/ mobile MG and then trying to get kills while running with it lol you can get a lot of hits if you get w/in 2 or 3 steps of the enemy xD
