I need help thinking what this could be: I recently (2 weeks ago) restored my Windows 8.1 (which is bringing back the laptop to factory settings, more or less format /c:, I guess) everything well... Installed ET (I pasted my etmain and etpub with, I think, all my configs -which are minimum, tbh-)... at first I had OpenGL issues which I could sort out after a couple updates... THE PROBLEM is that now I get 250 ping. Not constant, I mean I start a map with my usual 150 ping (which is my standard), but after 5 or 10 min, the ping fires up to 250 and stays there, never coming back down. All drivers are updated, my connection is the same, only thing in my laptop that changed is that I restored it. Processes are no more than before I retored it. Any ideas?
Cannot play at 250 because my connection is wifi (not stable), thus, my ping goes up and down so I get to 300 sometimes.
PS: Took me sometime to post cause I was waiting for windows to make all the updates needed, but there are no more updates to be installed anymore.

Have you tired running the trouble shooter? I had luck with this once when I had an inexplicable ping issue a few years ago.

Had you run a speedtest before you restored everything? I'm wondering whether your general speed test numbers are different now?

Have you tried changing the connection type in your ET settings? set it to cable and you'll be fine

did it.... steady but sometimes lagg out cose of wifi wifi is horrible. this is coming from someone who's still using an old-ass b/g adaptor. that said, this is why i drag the long-ass ethernet cord from my room to the PC adjacent to the kitchen. this, in-turn affords me a good-ass connection. picking up what i'm putting down? ethernet, baby ass
