I had forgotten I had written a review about this movie. This is one of my first ones, so it's shorter than the later ones. This was an interesting movie.

"It's time for another film review. This time it's for Ex Machina.
Ex Machina is a science fiction thriller film directed by Alex Garland. It stars Domhnall Gleason (known for General Hux in The Force Awakens and Captain Henry in The Revenant) and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron from Force Awakens). The story is that Isaac's character (Nathan Bateman) may have created artificial intelligence in the form of Ava, and invites Gleeson's character (Caleb Smith) to his facility to test her.
I really liked this movie. It was well directed and very suspenseful through the whole thing. It has a very uneasy feel to it that at times was almost horror movie like. There was also some interesting psychological elements that makes you think and were sometimes uncomfortable.
This movie was also smarter and more personal than I expected. When I saw the trailers I thought there would be more characters and bigger set pieces. But no. Gleeson, Isaac, and the actress who played Ava carry the film pretty much by themselves and it was great. I would say this movie is kind of like I-Robot but with a brain and being more psychological.
And it was interesting to learn about how smart Ava was as Caleb continued to question her.
I guess some people weren't sure about the ending. It wasn't exactly super exciting or climatic, and even the climax itself isn't particularly exciting. But to me it makes sense for this movie. It was pretty cold in terms of emotion. And the ending just confirmed what I was thinking throughout. I don't think it will totally surprise anyone.
