After spending the last 2 months watching (almost) every installment of the Halloween franchise in preparation, I finally saw this over the past weekend. I had high hopes after reading that John Carpenter himself approved the script, though I was a little sad that they decided to ret-con all the previous sequals, mainly #2 which has always been my favorite of the Halloween films. That aside, this film was fantastic. Jamie Lee Curtis gives an incredible performance, and Michael Meyers himself (also played by the original actor, Nick Castle) is terrifying to a whole new degree and more brutal than ever. This movie genuinely scared me. I don't think a horror film has genuinely scared me since I was about 13. Even the OG classic didn't do that to me. I *may* pay to see it again... witnessing it on the big screen is in itself an experience. KingMob gives it a 10/10.
