uhhhh, I might buy a new console. NOT an Intendo. What I want is the best choice for a media system, new games are less of an interest as I can download San Andreas on either system and all I really play is ET. Recommendations? I thot I heard that PS4 was better for media, but last night, I was told that I should get an Xbox. Uhhhhhhhh, recommendations? Danke!

I think which one you pick really only matters if you want to play games that come out exclusively on one or the other ... I think it's usually like some games only come out on the playstation. Otherwise I'm sure for media purposes they do pretty much the same thing ... there might be some sort of cheap TV stations thing for playstation if you're into that? PSVue maybe? I dunno, I have an Xbox :-P.
From a media perspective I can tell you that I stream movies and shows from my PC to XBOX pretty much daily ... I have a huge library of movies and shows on the PC, and I just run a program on the PC and use the xbox app to watch them, it's easy and works well.
Not sure about the new versions of them that I think are out now, there's an xbox one X or something and probably the equivalent upgraded PS4 ... they maybe have advantages for 4K TVs or something? I guess those would be more future proof, no idea if they are just the standard console now or they cost more than other versions or what.

I use a 1080p projector, so anything 4k wouldn't be worth any cost. I was leaning toward PS4 for slight gaming interest, meh we'll see. I wish I could D/L Sky Odyssey from PS2. Such a fun flying game that I miss

I'm sure you could just play that PS2 game on the PC using an emulator :-P.
Looks like the PS4 pro costs 100 bucks more ... guess it comes down to whatever you feel like spending. The internet consensus seems to be to just buy a PS4 Pro if you don't already have a PS4 ...

Get a ps4
Xbox, being a windows machine, is always ON and is constantly updating and might cause some Borking of the connection when you are trying to play ET.
I have this issue because my room mate has one...
But then again my internet connection sucks. Like 800 kb/s level of suck.

Also it sucks that every couple console now requires you to pay for online play
