Hello,
I'm thinking of Overclocking the following hardware:
Processor - AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice - 939 Chip
Video Card - nVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT 256 MB
Was wondering if anyone knew of a "safe" overclock speed for core and memory. Just please remember im still a novice in this area so please use "novice words" in computer language. If that even makes sense.
Hope ya'll can help,
Husky

No reason whatsoever to overclock that. So don't.
My 2 cents

#1 - Want more FPS In ET #2 - I get 60 in Cod2 and I drop to 30 sometimes. #3 - I'm not overly excited with those, and its an easy fix.
My reasons.

Not worth the overclocking, no need, check your configs for cod 2, but with that rig you should get like 250 fps so why more??

I can hit 333 fps with a very tweaked cfg on some maps, and i think 250 on radar outside.
I want good fps for cod2 though..
Overclocking still isnt final, i still need to think a little bit more,

FPS = Frames Per Second, just don't ask me what mean Frames Per Second, cause I really dunno. A hug!

I guess Frames Per Second is how much times the image changes in 1 second, so, 100 FPS=Image changes 100 times in one second, isn't it?

FPS: "Short for frames per second (and typically written in lower case), a measure of how much information is used to store and display motion video. The term applies equally to film video and digital video. Each frame is a still image; displaying frames in quick succession creates the illusion of motion. The more frames per second (fps), the smoother the motion appears. Television in the U.S., for example, is based on the NTSC format, which displays 30 interlaced frames per second (60 fields per second). In general, the minimum fps needed to avoid jerky motion is about 30. Some computer video formats, such as AVI, provide only 15 frames per second. "

Ok,
My full system specs are as follows:
Processor - AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice - 939 Chip
MotherBoard: - Zues A8v
Grahpic Interface Version: -AGP Version 3.0 -Transer Rate 8x
Memory: -1024 MegaBytes ( 1 GigaByte)
Graphical Processing Unit (Video Card) - Plug And Play Monitor - nVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT 256 MB
I'm happy with it, I just want a little bit of more performance out of it.

how can i see my fps? and btw, how can I find my "unique player id" (for splatterladder)? and huskyman, I don't think you should overclock that, it's already a good config... I only have a 2,4GHz and an average video card but that doesn't stop me from having good time with ET...

I never said I didn't have a good time with ET. cg_drawfps 1 2 or 5. I just want a little bit of more performance out of it.
