Heath Ledger passed away this morning from a possible drug overdose. This is suckage of massive proportions. The Dark Knight will be his final feature film, and hopefully a fitting tribute to him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and 2 year old daughter. wcbstv.com/breakingnewsalerts/heath.ledger.dead.2.635530.html

"And now it is I. I have been blessed and cursed... for now I possess the keys to the kingdom of heaven." - Alex Bernier (Heath Ledger), The Order

If you think about it, it really is such a huge loss. He was 28. 28. He was already an Academy Award nominated actor with a bunch of great movies to his name. I had not seen them all, but I certainly enjoyed A Knight's Tale, The Order and, of course, The Patriot. And his take on The Joker in The Dark Knight looks fantastic! 28. I can only imagine what he could have achieved over the next 50 years.

He was shadowing Gilliam something fierce, because he was getting ready to direct his first feature film, entitled "The Queen's Gambit". It was going to be written by Allan Scott, based on the novel of the same name. The role of the leading lady was offered by Ledger to Ellen Page (Juno). This does suck major donkey parts of an obscene nature.

GAH! See, I didn't know that...I think the sign of ultimate cool is association with Gilliam. Two types of people in the world. Those that get Terry Gilliam (or at least can appreciate his work) and those that don't understand him.
Would have been interesting to see his interpretation of The Queen's Gambit as well.
