Hmmm valid point ^ but then comic hero would exclude Hancock, and if Dire made being a hero the only qualifier then I would have to vote for that Baron fella, he's so dreamy. Back on point though, I've not seen any of them yet - but Batman Batman Batman.

DARKNIGHT BADDDDDDDAAAASSSSS! Quite possibly the best batman ever. Heath was awesome (the best Jack Nicholson I have seen). Action and weird a 10 in my book! If you have the opportunity see it on I-Max!

The Dark Knight was possibly one of the best 20 films I've ever seen, whether comic-book/superhero- related or not. I am a big fan of the Iron Man movie as well, and Downey Jr. did an excellent job. I prefer the heroes be human with superior intellect and/or skill that is the product of engineering that could be plausible. Superman, Fantastic Four, DareDevil, Incredible Hulk are too unrealistic to make great cinema, IMHO.
Dark Knight was an "experience", not just a movie. It didn't have a ton of cliches. It didn't take the predictable routes with all the characters. It was somewhat dark and despondent, as Gotham had become at the time. Heath Ledger should get some Oscar recognition in the form of a nomination, at least. In my book, he could win. He overshadowed the main character and although Nicholson did a great job with the script given to him, Ledger took something that was already established, and made it completely new and all his own.
Props to Eckhart as well for his turn as Harvey Dent.
Great movie, will even go see it again.
