I just re-watched the shining and am as confused as ever by it. I find it brilliant that Kubrick made a film that leaves so much to the viewer's interpretation. The ending for example has no definitive meaning. What makes this movie disturbing and what will keep me up at night is that while the 'conflict' (Jack's madness) is solved with his death I always find that the ending creates a jump-off point for the viewer's mind. Because the characters are all mad I do not get a clear picture of what happened in the hotel. Was it haunted or were they just driven by cabin fever? This movie troubles me deeply and would like to hear some other opinions on it. And what in God's name is that lion thing that Wendy sees near the end?

another amazing movie from Kubrick, A Clockwork Orange, that movie is a 'must watch', and the Shining is awesome, the actuation of Nicholson was epic... n_n

For those who have not seen this movie, it's a nice, pleasant, "feel good" movie.
