Anybody? Seemed pretty hyped, did it live up to it?

Not in the slightest for me. I liked the old DC comics and it's kinda cool that they've taken the superhero genre and played around with it. Unofrtunately however, the plot is unnecessarily long and the film tries to dip into deeper issues than it needs to and could do with more action. I like the heroes in it - Rorschach is awesome - but needed to show more of them.

Soft core pron IMO! I was displeased with so few action scenes. I loved the boob and ass shots though.

Personally, I liked the movie. No, it is not as good as the book but it still stands well as a film.
As for the lack of action, I knew that would be a common complaint, so did the guys that made it. The book has very little action. Its not the normal kind of superhero story where you have tons of fighting. Instead it is an exploration of what makes normal people decide to dress up and fight crime. This is more of a big-budget art-house film. Lots of people will hate it because they were expecting it to be something else.

Yeah the plot was not made to be about action, i have a few different themes than J_bourne but the psychological aspect is definetly one. They put the aciton in there because essentially movies are about putting butts in seats and without action they were not going to drag in there target audience (asside from pretentious comic book fans who wanted to watch it to get there hate on). I thought the opening was brilliant with the near still frames accompanied with the times they are a changin, by bob Dylan. One problem with the movie is that the medium is the message, and it was made for comic books. With that said i loved the movie almost as much as the book and thought the ending made much more sense than in the book. I am lucky enough to have just studyied the book in Our Novel study course in college. Imagine a room full of college kids ranting about how bad a movie is because it wasnt the same as the book.... Arghhhh it was a night mare for me.

just saw this on bluray, i thought it was a good movie. i recently read the graphic novel before watching the movie and it was faithful enough to it (for me at least) i disagree with some of the philosophy in the movie but in terms of an action flick it looked and sounded great!

I didn't read anything about it and only knew of the movies existence the moment I put it in my DVD player, so I can't see any expectations failed me since I didn't have them.
With that out of the way, I highly enjoyed the movie and the over athmosphere and theme in it.
