but.................... ................... I wanna some advices. I wanna buy a wii because I don't have so much time to move my a.. ..s since i'm back to studies and some day I'm back at 10:30pm at home. I know lot of people are using the wii to move and stay healthy and that's a bit the reason I want one. But I tried to search the Internet and I found so many things that I get lost. Like the remotes... there is like 10 things about that and I don't understand.. euh... which one are usefull or not... Nunchuk or whatever the name... Wich one may I buy to play most of the games? And which games are good to move... like.. I don't want games like SuperSmashBrawl since my goal is not to sit on my ass and play. I heard about Wii sport, Wii fit and many things. Can some people that have a wii give me a hand with that? I went to the video game store but there is too much game, too much things and I know the guy in the store is here to sell me things so i hate to ask them. Most part of them are not honest just trying to convince people to buy more and more than necessary. Thanks people

Thanks people I just got a Wii last week and I am having a blast so far with Mario Kart and the virtual console. I am not a wii expert yet but I will try to answer your questions! The Wii comes with a Wii-remote and a numchuck so if you will just be playing one player you will be all set with those to start! You may want to get the Wii motion Plus at some point which hooks onto the wiiremote and makes it more accurate but you dont have to get it right away (plus it comes with Wii Sports Resort which is a great game for moving around!) As for games where you move in the US anyways all Wii's come with Wii Sports which has a few games where you move around a bit like Baseball, Tennis, Bowling, Golf, boxing etc... Also as I mentioned earlier Wii Sports Resort is another good choice. Its the sequel to wii sports and has alot more sports in it like ( Wakeboarding, Frisbee, Archery, Basketball, Paddling, Cycling, Sword Fights etc...) But the game I think you would really want for Exercise is Wii-fit. That comes with a balance board and tons of interactive exercise thingys. I dont have it though so I cant say if its good or not but I know it is very popular. Hope that helped a little of least!

Heard about those things.. ya... but do you need the numchuck and wii motion plus for all game or only few? and are they multiplayer games? cuz i'm not alone in my little house Mario kart... it's kinda "you sit in your ass and play" no? I already have Gamecube controllers.. but if i need to buy 10 stuffs for wii.. like.. i'll need more than one remote for sure damn... expensive and all stuff.. so just want to buy supply i need.. not too much ahaha.. lot of people told me they got a wii for xmas... so well.. and everyone tells me that it's too good. XD really need to go to the store soon.. would be a good thing. ^^

Ya you pretty much just sit to play mario kart. ;D Ya both of the wii-sports games I mentioned are multiplayer and more fun with more people! For Wii sports you only need the numchuck for boxing and the wiimote does the rest of them. Also you can share the same wiimote for some of the games like bowling and golf. You probably would want a second wii-remote though if you have others who want to play.
So far only a few games use the new wiimotion plus add on so you probably do not have to buy it right away. But in the future more and more games will be using it.

I got the Wii 2 weeks before xmas, and I am NOT regretting the decision. I bought 2 xtra wiimotes($35 each) I also bought rock band 2 and guitar hero world Tour.i have 2 guitars, the mic and the drum kit. It's a bit pricey but well worth the investement, especially if you like rock. you can also buy wii points and purchase old games from Nintendo, segA Genesis,N64,etc...I have bought super Mario bros 3 and Castlevania 3(nintendo)...You can also connect to the internet with it.
My point is you can do alot with it,but as a first time buyer I recommend this: Wii console-$200 Extra wiimote-$35-$40 Extra Nunchuck-$20(optional) 2gb sD card(sandisk)-$15 (The memory in the wii gets filled up pretty fast)
P.S. the Gamecube controllers you have can be connected to the Wii and you can play your GC games on it also.
Wii Fit is prolly the best game to be active. I don't have it but will be getting it soon.

BTW-If you ever decide to get rock Band or guitar hero,be sure to buy the guitar hero instruments. The guitars are compatible with all the games(except rock Band 1) and the drums are built alot better and are more realistic.

Rock band and guitar hero are just nice for group play. Like if you have people at home. It's a nice activity. And I enjoy rock as most part of people in my family and same with friends. Majorglory, the motion plus, i know some game request it but if you choose to have one on your remote, is it working with game that dont need it or you should remove it to play game that dont need it and add it while games need it like wii sport resort? And having the motion plus and numchuck plugged, is it making batteries to discharge faster? And thanks stevonub, i didn't even think about memory card ahah. I have a huge one for my Gamecube with lot of slots. So ya, I guess wii need one. But how many games could you save on 2gb? Just to have an idea how big is each save and try to get a good memory card. I hate to have thousand cards and search where is the save files of the random game i wanna play lol. Some people were doing that with their Gamecube and it was so annoying. I only got 2 with GC and it was too much for me. It pissed me when I start a game and it's the wrong memory card. Thanks for prices. I took a look on EB Games online store and Future Shop and Best buy and it's kind of price I found. So will try to find something like that while buying. Sure I want more than one remote. We are 4 in family right now and when friends come at home, it would be great to be able to play all together. It could be funnny to share the remote for some game but sometime you just want to play all at the same time so. Will take a look at this. It's true. Everyone got a wii for xmas and everyone loves it. So guess it would be a good way to "waste" money. I don't love consoles so much but this one sounds bringing something new about HOW to play and i love that. Something my good pc can't give me. Now i need to take a walk to store and look at it. If you have more advice, thanks for sharing. Will read it and then will tell you what i'm doing. I appreciate your helps buddies. ^^

An interesting thing I also read is that the Wii supports SD cards up to 2GB....however,it supports SDHC cards up to 34 gigs. From what I read the SDHC card will be better for you, although it will be a bit pricier, but it will also save you from having to change out cards every time.
I'm not sure how many games can be saved on a 2 gig slot, but I have downloaded 15 songs for Rockband and I also have both Nintendo games on it and I haven't used up half a gig yet.
P.S. Rockband and Guitar Hero are fun when you play with other people, but they are also cool to play solo. You can let yourself get wrapped up in the game and actually pretend your the one rocking out to your fave jams. You can even go so far to get a mic stand and sing and play at the same time.......I dont have one ....yet.... 8)

Eh stevonub, you sweet lovely guy. Thanks for your help. It helps me a lot. I forgot about memory cards, thanks for reminded me. With the little checklist you did before, I won't forget anything when I'll go to the store and take a look at this. And my mom loves guitar hero and I think she played Rock band (the one with a drum and a mic is Rock band or there is another game with those instruments too?). So you're right, why not. But it costs a lot to buy everything so it wont be the first game I would buy but will consider it aswell then. I'm sure people will enjoy to play sometime together at this game. And for the old games, I dont really want to buy them. I have a SNES, N64 and GC with most of the games I wanted. I can play my GC and my N64. Can't play my SNES since it's PAL/SECAM (switzerland) but I download ROM of games I have (I said I HAVE, I'm not downloading stuff I don't have lol). Maybe some games I wasn't able to find in Europe, I would buy it to play it but don't think they have it (Seiken Densetsu 3 => Secret of Mana 2 => only game I don't have and I really want on SNES). Well, guess I'll start with going to store, looking at price and stuff they have. First of all is the Wii and remotes then will consider buying other stuff like wii-fit and maybe some rock band/guitar hero kind of game. If you tried any other games you really enjoyed, will appreciate to hear your comments. ^^

Games that let you play all instruments: Guitar Hero World Tour Rockband 1 & 2 Guitar Hero Metallica Guitar Hero Smash Hits Beatles Rock band Lego Rock Band Band Hero Guitar hero 5 There are others that I coul care less about... Pretty much all of them...except foir Guitar Hero 3. Although that game has the best music setlist I have seen in any game,it's a pity they don't reissue it with band play. Like I said,be sure to buy the Guitar Hero instruments (when you decide to). They are compatible with all the games. As for Secret of Mana..they only have the first one available so far. www.nintendo.com/wii/virtualconsole/games/detail/zYK27vMc29JW_HQPcagZoKLW7XCU3KosHeres the full list of games available to download and play: www.nintendo.com/wii/virtualconsole/games

Thanks Stevonub. So Guitar Hero's instruments can be played with every game. Good to know thanks. And, if we don't care about playlists, do you know which one is the best between all those games? Like about difficulties and all other things? Is there one that is better or it's only about the playlist and what we love? Some people prefer Guitar Hero and other prefer Rock band. I personaly never played any of those games so I don't really know the big difference between them. But it has to be easy and hard because some people (like mom lol) aren't really good playing video games and other like me, my bro and friends would love having more challenge. I dont know if you know all the games well to tell me which one is the best between rock band and guitar hero and i dont know anyone that has those games .

They're are the same to me. Same concept.Although GH has better graphics, but Rock Band has alot more download content, and overall a better playlist. Both games have easy to difficult songs that can be played from easy to Expert. Pretty much it depends what playlist you like better.

Oh, was taking a look about prices and all that stuff. My only last question is about nunchuck. Do you need it for some game? Or only few games require it? I found some great deals but no nunchuck with it. So will have to buy them separatly and I want to know if it's really useful. I found another good game to move: dance dance revolution. I forgot this one lol. I guess it could be great aswell.
