Everytime I open a thread or a page there is a 2-6 second pause as the ads load. I understand the need for sponsorship to defray the costs. However having to wait several seconds for each page deters me from visiting your website. I have 6g highspeed cable, w/ quad core, 4g ram, other sites load ads in fractions of a second.

umm, may be a problem on your side of things, I'm on a much slower connection (200mbs ISDN), and they load under 1 sec here.
I'm using IE7, WinXP-Pro, 1GB DDR2, Pentium dual core 2.8, and not an issue here. A 'wild' guess given your lack of details, I suspect your browser, or anti-virus software checking the links/ads.
Try disabling AV, and try again, but be sure to re-enable. If using IE, disable 'phishing filter', u don't need it with AV onboard, it's overkill.
And try another browser if you have more that one installed now. If not, I wouldn't recommend loading another browser just to find out. More that one browser jes causes a fight between your Micro$oft crap and anything else that 'isn't M$'.

and peeps, don't forget to do your Windows Updates. (Under TOOLS, WINDOWS UPDATE)
If you're using the 'lastest-greatest-buggiest' browser (IE8), be sure to visit Windows Updates often. All u unpaid-bug-shooters find problems, and M$ will post updates for your browser.
tip: Always stay '1 version' back, (ie. IE7). It will always! be more stable than the 'latest-greatest-buggiest'...fyi

I know, I'm a bad delta bad (ask phobos)... if you have firefox, download adblock Plus (firefox's plugin). It'll solve most of ad problems. I'm not against ads but too much website abuse it and it's kinda spam annoying. So i'm blocking most part of them. Sorry for peeps that are honest and not annoying with ads. Anyway, I never click on it so you're not losing anything if I block it hahaha.

Firefox, 26 seconds to load forums. I can see several ad sites at bottom left loading during this time. Yes if others have no problem, its probably my anti-virus.

The only solution for you solex is stop haxing. No eichmann, seriously, did you tried Adblock plus? It's very usefull and increase loading speed like hell. Then, it's not probably the only reason it's so slow but it could help.
