Have read the Rules and reviewed sk maps. I was muted after trying to state my case (only reason I even bothered to ask in game was there was 3vs3 server had died for this morning) and I was warned for sk. I asked, You were laying there hiding? and was muted. No worries as I left the server and thought I would ask here since I found this statement in rules: If there is a mortar, FO, or sniper hiding in the red area, you may go in after them. (It doesn't say engineer, but he was hiding none the less, he was prone and waiting to kill me.) I ran through to plant, saw he was lying in wait to ambush me at his spawn exit and I killed him. Legal or Not? Thanks ..... Granted on a full server I wouldn't be able to justify shooting in that direction, but with 3vs3? Anyway just looking for some clarification is all! Seems in this case it was using the rule to an un-fair advantage! Just my two sense! Love the server - Cheers!

Full or not, 3 vs 3 more or less, rules stay the same.

Corvus is correct so this isn't an extension to the above. However, doc's interpretation has reminded me of an issue I wanted to raise ages ago.... In this case, an engineer prone at that spot cannot be shot, BUT what if it was a Soldat with MG prone in that spot facing the fuel dump? I know the answer if we were to follow the black and white of the rules but even if the MG has not yet fired a bullet then the intention to be set up facing that direction would be using the spawn for unfair protection. Fellow admin discussion and officer opinion would be welcome

If it was soldat with MG set up in red zone - he is fair game. It's like mortar in spawn. But if it was engy who prone there - it depends. If he is not shooting at you - You can't kill him. But If he start to shoot - he is fair game. He can't use spawn as a protection. That would be insane, he could prone there all day long and easily killing enemy. That's my opinion, but I can be wrong...

hmmm, this is one of those times where the rules dont quite work IMO.
Its not fair to say - you have to wait for him to open fire on you, especially given the cirsumstances (3v3 with a fair assumption that all payers are actually participating, enemy camping within a protected zone but arguably there with intent to deliver ordnance into play, etc)...
These are the times where the admin has to make a judgment call. I personally would not have warned for it in this case.
Unless you went through the axis base and came up behind him....

I'd say not sk, if engy is moving its fair to say he's coming out of spawn, proning in the exit is camping, no different then camping with any other weapon, and since its on the very edge of spawn seems like the engy was trying to use the spawn area so they could get the kill without getting shot, So in my opinion because of the proning which meant the engy was def. camping the dump I'd say no sk... just my opinion.

Doc shot the engy before the engy started shooting though.
