Ok, so I suggested to John that we add a "Food and Drink" subforum to share recipes and boozy reviews and right now I'm sipping a Goose Island Honkers Ale so let's have at it. Goose Island is a great little brewery located in Chicago and has concocted my absolute favorite beer of all time, the Bourbon County Brand Stout. More on that at a later date. Their Honkers Ale is a classic English Bitter coming in at 4.2% and is the quintessential session beer. I cannot get enough of it. The balance between hops and malt is perfect for the style in my opinion and it is absolutely delicious. I get caramel and a bit of toastiness on the finish. Certainly thinner than your average BIG CRAFT BEER, but it's an English Bitter so what did you expect? I could drink this by the case. God bless you Goose Island. p.s. i stole this photo since I'm still drinking mine and didn't take a picture.
