Last nights episode seems to be getting pretty positive reviews ... especially a lot of mention of the long shot of jon snow during the battle which I was definitely impressed with while watching

While I enjoyed last nights episode, the one thing I always liked about Game of Thrones is the unpredictability. I totally knew exactly what was going to happen last night. However the battle was pretty spectacular.

Oh mang... what an awesome start to the show yesterday! V57!!! Also, Regarding the gift Euron claims he will get for Cersei: Is it Dragonbinder?
If so, will Cersei be able to control the dragons?
Pure speculation.
The giant white-walkers looked badddd ass.
STOKED!!
Watched the last 2 episodes prior to the season opener yesterday.

Definitely thought that the best part of the episode last night was the part with Arya at the Twins and i always like to see the character development in the Hound. That being said it has only been one episode and I've already had enough of the Sansa & Jon co-ruling thing. Mostly just not a fan of Sansa acting like she knows all of the terrors that Cersei can unleash on him when 1. She has not even been to Kings Landing in years at this point and has missed her recent acts that actually were extreme and 2. A lot of the time Cersei was actually trying to help Sansa including things like trying to get Joffrey to NOT kill Ned at the end of the first season, and telling her that it doesn't matter if she likes Joffrey or not she still will love their kids so she needs to stay strong, etc. Still was a good episode to ease back into things though.

My favorite part was the Ed Sheeran cameo

Thanks. I love how he eloquently describes the proceedings of the show. Very astute, indeed. Also, is it becoming glaringly obvious to everyone that Benioff and Weiss don't want to spend too much of zee cgi budget monies on the dire wolves? Prolly the reason for sending Nymeria away (and not have Ghost in the war of the bastards, last year?) Maybe they're cat lovers?

I don't remember if this happens in the books or the shows or what but: I think Bran is supposed to be able to control a wolf or something (like go into its mind ?) ... something like that ... so I feel like they could be making more appearances? Or maybe like T-Pain says: Dog like “bitch, but she got dragons” lol.

Which leads me to speculate (no spoiler) whether he'll ever be able to control the dragons? Also, will Summer ever come back as a wight? How bad ass would the White Walker contingent be - with "dead" giants and "dead" dire wolves as part of their contingent. I might have to switch to Team White-Walkers.

I don't remember where but i read that they elected to go with much improved CGI with Dany's dragons over the dire wolfs after the criticism they got in that one pit fighting scene. Also after the show the creators said that the wolf was supposed to symbolize Arya in somehow in respect to not being domesticated or something

Also after the show the creators said that the wolf was supposed to symbolize Arya in somehow in respect to not being domesticated or something Yeah, I was confused when Arya said "You are not her" or something like that.
But, then read up today that she indicated that Nymeria was a free spirit, like her. Apparently, Ned had mentioned to Arya (in season 1) that she would get married someday and have a family (and she responded to her dad with something similar i.e. I am not that girl).
It's also an easy way to allow the producers to refocus their CGI $$'s to the dragons and the white-walkers.
Apparently, it's hard for them to create a realistic looking wolf - since they take a real wolf and make it much bigger etc.
Anyway, not a big deal. I'd just like to see one do something really significant - since they were a big part of the Starks. Summer saved Bran in an earlier season - but outside of that - you just see them die (get beheaded) w/o any significant cause.
Apparently in the books, Robb's dire wolf put up an excellent fight during the red wedding. But they just killed his wolf in the cage, in the show.

What an episode this week right?? It had everything! Absolutely. We waited all these seasons to watch the Dothrakis taken on the Lannister army. It was worth the wait. So, does Jaime turn into Aquaman now? The Lannisters need some super powers too, right?

So, I was corn-fused with last night's episode. So, why did a bunch of "important" dudes, just decide to put their life at risk, in order to bring a white walker back?
To convince Cersei that they exist?
WTF?!

They probably need to kill off some characters out there beyond the wall since there's only two episodes left this season

Seriously tho - WTF are they trying to convince Cersei for? Just so that she doesn't take dragonstone if/when Danny helps Jon?
lololol
If I were Danny, I'd be like, give me 20 mins while I take 2 of my dragons and smoke her, jaime, the mountain and anyone else worth frying, then send Jorah and a a few of the unsullied to guard kings landing, while I prep to take on the night king. I mean, Jorah just fought leprosy for crying out loud - give him a break, mang.
Instead, let's go ahead and risk the lives of some key members of the show - just to prove to Cersei that these things are real - and then hope that she wont take dragonstone when danny and gang are up norte. LULZ!!!
Comical.

From my recent Northern Ireland trip I channeled my inner GoT nerd. Melisandre had that weird smoke baby here Same place from inside Larrybane: The place where Brienne was introduced in Renly Baratheon’s camp (when she defeated Loras Tyrell) This is apparently where Jon Snow "met" the dragon for the first time (in season 7) - as per some tour guide who was yelling that from a few feet away Larrybane Ballintoy Harbour - Iron Islands Ballintoy Harbour (when Theon returns home to the Iron Islands) Dark hedges - this is Kingsroad (Arya Stark escapes using this road)
