et-affinity cpu core program
Was curious if anybody has had any luck with cpu core programs to get et to run on single core for better frame rates?

I don't think this will make any substancial difference, the big problem these days is punkbuster a + b causing micro studdering.

The machine I have now is dual core, and of course knowing ET was designed for single, I shut down one core from in the bios. Yeaaaa..it made no difference at all that I can see. In fact a friend (who should know what there talking about ??) informed me, that if the program was designed to use only 1 core, it will use only 1, no matter how many the machine has. As I am not smart enough I cant verify this, but it makes some kinda sense I guess. Cheers!

I've got a setAffinity file somewhere. I've only found it useful for Need for speed Carbon. A game that was originally designed for single core, when I ran it on multiple cores, it would run at 100% (normal) speed and occassionally spike to faster speeds making it harder if not impossible to win the last races. SetAffinity helped by keeping the game speed normal.
I've found it in my Download archives, if you want me to email it to you, pm me.
