Has anyone tried XP Virtual machine using Windows 7 Professional/Ultimate? Is it worth it? what are your experiences? I wanna setup a virtual machine specifically for an old game (starcraft) since my old computer is starting to fail As far I've tried it there is like a lag for every operation I do...I haven't mess with all the setup-virtual machines options but I'm starting to think that Windows7's virtual machine is not good at all :x

jump on a WoW or Starcraft clan forum. those are some smart cookies and they can tell you more than you want to know about that

I run VMs at work on my win7 workstation. I have had zero problems. I made a single CLEAN VM (no software except basics). Then as I need to test something I clone the basic to a new VM and off I go. I can readily switch back and forth to an existing VM or create a new one. I did put all my VM virtual drives and software on a second drive just in case. Never tried games but for everything I have done they work great.

I've messed around a little with VMs when i first got win7 and never had an issue. Admittedly i never did much with them, just kind of booted them up and ran a few light programs, but everything worked real well.
