My friend recently brought this to my attention. This guy came up with a new way to watch the Star Wars movie in an order what he called "Machete Order." The idea behind it is that this guy feels that it's a better way to tell the story of Star Wars. Instead of watching every film in order (I through VI), he suggests watching them in this order:
IV, V, II, III, VI. You'll notice that episode I is removed, but this guy has good points as to why. If you sit back and think a moment, is there anything that happens in Episode I that you ABSOLUTELY need for the rest of the movies?
My friend and I tried it, and while I've seen all the films a good amount of times, I can see where this guy is coming from. Here are some things that are changed/removed if you do this (I'd suggest not reading if you haven't seen the films but would like to):
Almost no Jar-Jar
No midichlorians. Instead of turning the force into something biological, it stays more religious and mystical.
Anakin is always wearing black, and Obi-Wan always has a beard, which according to this guy keeps the characters more consistent.
In Attack of the Clones, we assume Dooku is the main villain, and it isn't until the end that we realize he has a master. If you watch Episode I, it kind of ruins the Darth Sidious/Palpatine surprise.
The reveal of Luke and Leia being twins is also moved to Episode III instead of VI, which is actually a more effective twist.
There are other things as well.
I should add that the guy acknowledges that watching the movies in this particular order isn't without it's own slight problems.
Here's the link to the article, which explains more of what is affected by watching the movies in this order:

So if you haven't seen the movies before or haven't seen them in a while, I would recommend trying to watch the movies in this order.
