Hi u freaks!
Well, after a few months waiting for a solution that allows me to play (no port available from ISP in my neighborhood), I've been thinking about trying a 4G connection to play ET. My (yeah, totally dumb) question is: how much traffic, approximately, is needed to play ET for about 1 hour, considering that all maps are already in my ET folder? I mean, just traffic, no map downloading.
If someone can enlight me on this, I'll really appreciate.
A hug!

Hi beer!
Monitoring all my Internet use (ya, I had only 60GB per month, no choice.. Glad I updated for unlimited yesterday!!!) As far as I remember, an hour of ET never was bigger than 50Mb for me... Sometime even closer to 25Mb than 50Mb. And most of time I run Ventrilo and Xfire on background. I'll try it for you. Will reset my current count and play an hour of the game and let you know exactly how much I got. But honestly, always monitored my Internet use for years now and I can't remember a night of ET where I had more than 50mb/hour (with no map downloads ofc!)
I'll let you know when I'm done with it (unless someone else answers first!)

Thanks a lot! I have a 2Gb 4G plan that I use on my smartphone only, and I've been thinking about getting a 10Gb plan (still 4G, but through modem connected to my laptop) just for playing ET, since I can't have a decent DSL connection at home (I hate the city where I live SO MUCH!).
A hug!

Or is it from your ISP?

Nah I use a software sir. It's called Network Meter and it's doing an awesome job. Previously, I had a software called BitMeter but for some reason, on my new computer, the datas it gathers are incoherent and unrealistic. For now, Network Meter always seemed very accurate. Here is the link to download it: addgadgets.com/network_meter/OFC, I have another widget retrieving my datas from my ISP too but since I'm not the only one in the place using the Internet, I can't accuratly know how much I personnaly use because it's the overall status of the quota. We installed that kind of softwares just to prove, years ago, that my brother was responsible of the busting of our quota of Internet! (and trust me, it did prove it months after months after months ahahhahaha)

Thanks for the info! I've installed an android app on my phone, but it measures all traffic. Gonna try your Network Meter on the computer, turn off everything that need internet and run ET to measure the traffic. Depending on it, I'll be able to play by my 4G connection till the 'glorious' ISP get a free port for me.
A hug!
