Well, i finally changed my cool old-school-optimized mouse (with napkins and tape) to a new Genius Deathtaker. The truth is that the choice was a memory mistake: Bacon had advised me to buy a "Razer Deathadder" and I bought a Genius "Deathtaker" (I know, I know, plz don't make me explain why this happened... only thing i will say is that it has a lot to do with friday nights) OK, so... the problem is with saving the profiles settings: I choose sensitivity, dpi and all that stuff, along with left button DOUBLE CLICK SPEED; that's the problem: the interface would save all setting EXCEPT for double click speed. I've already reinstalled the interface and every time I open it, all settings would be saved except for double click speed. Any ideas? do you think there's something I can do to fix this or should I just return the mouse?

I am also a razer fan have had a few of them and I just like the weight and feel of them, I have heard that logitech puts out some nice gaming mice also ( I have never used them ) I have also tried the off brand ones that are "like" razer and they are not even close. If you have a store that sells gaming mice local I would suggest trying them out, if not I am sure more pps here know much more about the mice out there, if you can return it and not lose money and you are not happy with it, then sure bring it back. Get something that works and is comfy for ya.

Hoff, I dont have a specific answer for you but may be able to point you in the right direction. At work we use 3d motion controllers and other add-on user input devices and on occasion some users have problem saving settings. What I found was there are three places where settings may be stored. First was the installation directory of the device's software. The second place was the C:\Users\your_username\AppData\ folder. Lastly, is the registry. I would start by making sure that you have permissions to write to those folders (try running the configuration app as administrator) and/or nosing around in those locations for saved configurations files. I supposed a quick call to the device's support group is a possibility as well. Sorry for the lack of specifics.

Could be the lack of privileges of the Genius's folder(s) Left click folder(s) -> Properties/Security/
Then u might add your user in the group or user names. Permissions: Fullcontrol

Another Mouse problem: In the last couple weeks I started using GTK radiant again to work on an old map I started yrs ago. Anyway as soon as I reinstalled radiant, I had immediate problems with mouse control in ET. I do happen to have the DeathAdder 3.5G Anyway I cant seem to adjust my sensitivity, not matter what I change the numbers to. It is also giving me funny spins and whip arounds like some of the cheap mice I've had in the past. I was using the standard win drivers, so I downloaded the correct fully functional drivers from Razer. Hasn't changed anything :/ I even removed radiant..went over all the system mouse settings I could find. Anyone got any ideas on this one? I'm fairly vertain it has to do with radiant, as it was also causing mouse function to cease on occasion in that program and I'd have to restart, just not certain what system mouse settings would, or should be changed by radiant

I had weird mouse problems on ET when my windows resolution was setup with 4k resolution and on game 1680x1050 (my old monitor resolution). I changed ET's resolution to either FULLHD or 4k and mouse problems were gone. Have u been messing around with your windows resolution?

no standard 1280X? resolution, I reinstalled all my drivers, and did fresh install of game. Havnt used radiant again yet, have to wait and see if anything changes when I do. but somewhere in all that, mouse seems to be back to normal again. Even my sound card was doin funny things, and i had to reset to defualts on that. Who knows maybe one of the kids got to machine and messed with stuff to. wouldnt be the 1st time :/ I have to remember to shut comp down whenever I leave so they dont get on it.
