I am experiencing terrible lag in all the maps except Fueldump and perhaps Radar. I am running Windows 10... this all started about 3 to 4 weeks ago and I feel like it may be linked to a Windows update of my graphics driver? Since it is only certain maps, it has frustrated me to no end! Any ideas or help will be very much appreciated! thanks!

Yea... let the experts help ya... The only thing i can say is that I've always played with a 160-220 ping, and I haven't noticed anything unusual (and I can tell you I'm one of the first that notices this kind of changes), so i guess It must be on your side.

Is it higher ping? Is it lag spikes? Lower-than-normal FPS? Do you use the lagometer (\cg_lagometer 1)? What GFX settings do you use? Need lots more info, but my knowledge ends where Windows problems begin. In-game tweaks can help a bit with both ping and FPS, but not if you have more fundamental non-game related software issues.
I'm still happily using XP.
No lag on Fueldump..? this IS the Twilight Zone!!

I removed and reloaded the game with same results. I then set the game to run at the lowest detail level possible and that seemed to fix the issue. However, I hate running in such low detail. I am running Win 10 with 8 GB RAM Intel core i5 4690 @3.50 Hz. I have a AMD Radeon HD 6670 card. All this is on a SSHD which originally the game ran very well. I have a feeling it is an an update to the video drivers now. I will see about back dating the video drivers and see what happens. I will also modify these after the video driver...
/cl_maxpackets 100 /rate 25000 /snaps 40 /com_maxfps 85

Here is what I got for those commands you mentioned (I get lag sometimes but I think its the server): seta cl_maxpackets "30" seta rate "25000" don't have snaps configured seta com_maxfps "125" (I remember back in the days when RTCW was popular that pro-strafejumpers recommended maxfps configured in 76 or 125 only; it had some effect of jumping more or something like that)
Hope this helps!

Is that still true? What about your vid settings? With that hardware though, you shouldn't really be having any probs at all. Every component is far better than mine. I agree with Amigo though, don't buy into the maxpackets 100 hype. There's no reason for it, and you'll get a much improved ping by lowering. Don't go below 30 tho. Rate is good, snaps is pointless to set, FPS should be much higher - I wouldn't go above 200. You'll get issues if the FPS gets too high. Let us know how things are running when able.
