What you do is:
All players go spec
Qaw or admin choose 2 captians
Captians choose alternating players
Those players, as their name is called, join axis or allies
Game on!

I enjoy having choices & regretting those choices. Better than no choice at all (shuffle). This can be done in one minute with co-operation. Thats what warm-up is for. ALL GO SPEC! Variant 1: Admin picks captians and we alternate choices . With those players joining as called. Variant 2: Admin picks two teams from amongst the server and moves them about as needed. Variant 3: Admin chooses two captians, 1 good & 1 poor, poor captian chooses their team, good captian is stuck with the rest. Variant 4: Admin chooses captians, players join which ever side they want, things even out. Variant 5: Everyone going spec and re-choosing their side is better than shuffle. Variant 6: If there are no admins on, vote for captians. Variant 7: Admin seperates server by nic: color, length, nocolor, language, alphabetize. Red vs Blue, etc.. Variant 8: Swap only the captians or perceived leaders/best players of each team. Variant 9: Admin can setup lopsided match, 3 best players vs 6. Lockteams. Variant 10: The time allowed can be adjusted by an enforced pause to allow handicap. Variant 11: A map (goldrush), is used for pickteams. I was there for the one on the 24th Worked pretty well once everyone figured out what was going on. Eihter language or they didn't realize that there were 20 people on and spec'd and they were playing by themselves. Then it was OK..... Still I got picked next to last... Just like in basketball in 7th grade.... I lived through that too....

After you pickteams for goldrush, record the time and !swap for a time match.

The above was good when it happened - but it appears that most folks don't like the swap teams idea (a simulated stop watch mode), when the map is done. We had several folks disco after the swap vote. We even had you (the captain) abandon your team midway through the second map  |

I came back and finished the map (axis held). I'm having comp problems, had to restart. Qu!ck called one earlier and it half worked.
Call a vote for swap in last few seconds if available.

 How we started  How we ended up. I like pickteams, however I am a poor chooser, we got stomped. Thanks Schle for help and direction. Once we got to spec, pickteams was finished in less that a minute! Some players !resetmyxp for fairness, well done. |
