This is what's coming up for teh year ..... Moderately looking forward to Jessica Jones. Hopefully the background music is not catered towards 14 yr old girls (as in season 1). Why can't they just play Madonna in teh background instead?!? More Borderline, I say!!

Not a whole lot that's interesting me in that list.
Looks like in the new shows list the only one I might be interested in is Altered Carbon , I know I watched a trailer for that a couple weeks ago. In the returning shows I've never even heard of most of them, but I do watch OitNB and Jessica Jones.
Overall if that's the most anticipated Netflix stuff for the year it seems like it's gonna be a slow year for Netflix -___________-

Cool, gonna check that one out ... I kind of heard of it and saw NPH was in it but thought it was just a children's thing or something, but I guess I was incorrect.
I'll just throw these out there since it's a Netflix thread ... I recently added Mindhunter to my queue, it was rated pretty high on rotten tomatoes.
Also on my to-watch list are two miniseries; Alias Grace and Wormwood ... First one is based on a Margaret Atwood book I think and the second is an Errol Morris docu-series (he does some good documentaries like Grizzly Man and The Thin Blue Line )

Finished watching Ozark this weekend.
It was aaiiight. Not bad. Jason Bateman was pretty decent.
I wished some of these mini-series' would just tell a complete story in one season (instead of keeping major plot lines open for a potential season 2).
HBO's Big Little Lies (great show) is apparently coming back for a season 2 as well (sigh). Haven't these money hungry producers learned anything from True Detective 2.

Agreed, Ozark wasn't too bad, I don't think there was anything particularly special about it though.
I was surprised when they announced another season of Big Little Lies ... I thought it was even being billed as a mini-series while airing. Maybe they had a second season story line up their sleeve in case it was well received?
Think Ozark is also a go for a second season ... will it just be the same plot in a new location?

From what I read somewhere, Big Little Lies was always meant to be a one-season mini-series. But, due to the success of the show, HBO decided to get some writers to scramble together a plot for season 2.

I finished Altered Carbon yesterday ... it was okay, didn't find anything overly compelling about it. Maybe two episodes too long, didn't feel like the story was totally engaging. If you're big into sci-fi and are desperately in need of something to watch it might be worth checking out, but it isn't a show I'll probably ever think about again. From what I've read it was pretty expensive, didn't review that great, and probably won't get a second season.
Not a Netflix show, BUT I don't feel like making another thread no one will read ... yesterday I watched an episode of Philip K Dicks Electric Dreams, an anthology show based on his various stories. It's an Amazon show and I think also airs in the UK on TV. Anyways the first story wasn't bad, I just threw it on while I ate dinner. Hard to review an anthology series per se. I think there's some famous actors in each one, the first episode had the guy who was Rob Stark on Game of Thrones. I think Bryan Cranston is one at some point. Could be a show to look into if you have Amazon streaming though.
Might fire up Series of Unfortunate Events next!

Reviews on imdb are somewhat negative for both shows. Looks like they've changed some of story lines in Electric Dreams from PKD's books (which is getting some criticism too). Not a Netflix show, BUT I don't feel like making another thread no one will read ... Hey man - I'm quite confident that at least 3 people read these threads!

Series of Unfortunate Events was pretty fun. Sometimes it seems a bit geared towards a younger audience but I got a good amount of laughs out of it and really enjoyed the presentation of it all.
Might try Mindhunter on for size next.

Nielsen has taken notice of my numerous TV show threads and sent me a short survey in the mail, along with two crisp $1 bills! I can't resist the promise of five additional dollars upon completing the survey. Looks like my ET time has come to an end, as I will be retiring to a remote island that in an ironic twist will not have television or internet access.

Been enjoying Mindhunter so far ... Maybe not for everyone, pretty dialogue heavy hour eps, goes into the FBI starting to use criminal psychology as a means of solving murders. I have found it pretty interesting and engaging personally, could be one to check out if you're in the mood for a heavier show.

I saw that a Lost in Space reboot will be on Netflix in April ... If I had to guess I'd say it probably won't be great.

I was a kid when those the books came out and had read almost all of them (some 20 years ago?). Thought the netflix adaptation was much better than the Jim Carey movie. I am a nerd for cool words and the books are partially to blame ha. Glad to see it was also a staple of the series. -KingMob

Again not Netflix show but I don't want to make a Hulu thread so deal with it.
Started watching The Path a couple days ago, just a few episodes into the first season so far. Seems like a slow builder but gotta love Aaron Paul and the crazy cult storyline has gotta have some interesting stuff going on. I think there's three seasons of it so it must do pretty decent ratings wise.
Also need to make a mental note to watch Justified, I think there was five seasons and it was a highly rated show.

Not a Netflix show but binged through 10 hours of season 1 of Sneaky Pete today. It's on Amazon prime.
It was entertaining and I recommend it. The first season is a complete storyline. I've heard that season 2 is not as good? So might wait to watch that unless nothing else is on.
Thinking of Americans next.

Yeah season 2 wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't as fun as season 1.
I could heap more praise on The Americans if you want.
The Path has been pretty okay so far ... Kind of cliche for lack of a better word in the sense of it sort of hitting all the points you'd imagine about a show dealing with cult life but I've been digging it.

Last night I finished watching "Tabula Rasa". I enjoyed this series as well. www.netflix.com/title/80206360I felt that the ending was a little bit rushed tho.

Since we're off topic anyhow, if you have Amazon Prime/Amazon Video give Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams a shot ---- especially if you're a fan of his literary works. I give it a 8/10. -KingMob

I have watched a couple of them when I'm running low on other stuff to watch ... so far I've seen the one with the hood guy, the one where bryan cranston is a space captain or something, the one with Steve Buscemi, and the one where the guys run a tourist trip to planets or something. Haven't really found any of the ones I watched to be remarkable in any way, bordering on boring at times. I'm sure I'll eventually watch all the remaining eps when I have another lull in programming but I'm in no hurry.

Probably will not ever end up watching that one, though I do see it has a 7.3 on IMDB, not as bad as I was expecting when I googled :-P
